Built To Spill: The Plan
The plan keeps coming up again
The plan means nothing stays the same
But the plan won't accomplish anything
If it's not implemented
Like it's always been
And it makes me think of everyone
And the cause of this is evident
But the remedy cannot be found
Cause it's so well hidden
This history lesson doesn't make any sense
In any less than ten thousand year increments
Of common sense
I've been planning to write some new entries for a while now. It's not like I don't have the time, but what I have to say isn't worth much effort. So those entries have remained in the planning stages.
I have four (soon to be five) books to comment on. I'm in the middle of L.A. Confidential; I got used to Ellroy's style quickly and have really enjoyed it so far.
I have a plan to escape Magnolia. I haven't fleshed out the details, but it includes what I consider to be the first long term goals that I've ever set. Not a big fan of goal setting; it seems like a good way to set yourself up for failure. But what the hell, I'll see if it motivates me to end my early retirement. In what will be my most blog-like entry to date, that plan will be unveiled within the next few weeks.
I've also received my first trackback spam (first trackback of any kind actually). I don't really know what trackback is used for, but I'm hesitant to shut it down completely. It's like the blue haired old ladies that listen to entire phone solicitation spiels, at least someone or something is visiting my site to keep my lonely entries company.
More to come soon, but there's also an even money chance that my reborn zeal will fade again. Maybe I'm not at the zeal level yet; perhaps today's trendy PR waffling is more appropriate: I'm cautiously optimistic that I will provide some new entries in the near future. Place your bets.
I am looking forward to hearing about your long term plan. I can only assume that it doesn't involve chemicals in any way.
Well, it better not involve curly fro-ic pornography.
Move to Austin!
oooOOOO~! A Plan. (is it right to boldface and capitalize like so?) I am also looking forward to more details. Maybe it'll inspire me to do something more about my situation too.
Hello Andrew. Dion just fowarded me to this website. Apparently, we're all supposed to go out to dinner to catch up. Woo! And yes, I agree w/ Parker that you should move to Austin. Everyone should move to Austin.
